Indeed it is each to their own. But it has almost become as if there seems to be some sort of unwritten minimum spend on weddings that if some girls cannot afford, they are left feeling that their wedding is substandard. All I am saying is that I am not going to get involved in the silliness of it all.

I'm getting married next year, and to be honest I am finding the amount of money being spent on weddings quite vulgar. I have turned against the whole stupidity of it all, and I am deliberately getting everything on the cheap because it is not what we or our guests are about.

I would really like for everyone to stop thinking that ONE DAY is worth so much money. Surely the day is just about making a commitment to spend the rest of your life with someone. Why would that cost so much money?

The same theory could be applied to anything in life that costs money. Some people have a car that costs £500 others splash out on something for £30,000.

It is sad to think that some couples are getting themselves into huge debt to pay for a wedding, but it is their business.
