My 'friend' who I have known since I was a small child is causing me problems. Problem is that I don't want her at my wedding because whatever I do she will pull it to pieces. I can't not invite her because we go back so long, but she truly is awful.

Two choices. (1) cull her now because she is no friend at all.(2) Continue and accept that she will do what you fear and hope that everyone else knows that she is clearly not a nice person.

I know its hard, but can you try and talk to her about how you feel, maybe try and make her realize how much she is making you feel under pressure at this difficult time.
