Hi, I am new. I just got engaged at Christmas and we are planning a to Marry in August 2010. We have been together 9 years, so August can't come quick enough for me. I am concerned that 9 months is not enough time to plan. Any tips would be appreciated. What do you you do/look at first?

Congratulations I think 9 months is easily do-able. Pick a date first and then your church/venue. This article has all the stuff you have to do, just break it down into 9 months instead of 12.

If you are wanting any bespoke services then I would suggest checking their availability sooner than later, most of my clients book our services up to 2 years in advance. However I have noticed a trend lately (credit crunch?) where clients have been booking at shorter notice (between 12 months and 6 months).

This applies only if you have any specific service providers in mind. Though if you leave it too late then you might be left with the left overs

Thanks everyone. I have spent alot of the weekend surfing and finding things, so I feel alot more at ease about the whole planning business. It's all very exciting. I am really looking forward to it now.
