Would you rather have Fireworks or a Casino?

I think fireworks are a really nice finale to the evening, that would be my choice.

I run a business providing musicians and DJs for weddings and regularly work alongside both firework and casino companies:

Casinos:

A casino is a great way to build the mood and create a bit of a buzz after your meal. Usually, your guests will all be given a certain amount of free chips, and they will keep playing until Auntie Mable (who turns out to be a professional blackjack player) has won all of the chips!

As a DJ, I will often start off the evening with the first dance, and then after 15-20 minutes of dancing, I will announce the casino. Usually, this will clear the dance floor as your guests rush to try their luck at the casino.

As people start to lose their chips, they will drift back onto the dance floor and when the casino is finished (9:30/10:00) the winner is usually awarded a bottle of bubbly. You can ask your DJ to announce this and get everybody onto the dance floor to cheer the winner, and then you will all be in a good mood (drunk enough) to dance the night away!

Fireworks:

I have seen some extraordinary firework displays at weddings over the last few years. Some are choreographed to music and others are just visual.

The timing of the fireworks will really depend on the time of the year...it gets dark later in the summer, etc.

I would recommend having the fireworks approx half an hour after the evening buffet is served. You will find that some of your guests will take a break from dancing to your DJ/band when the food is served. If you have the fireworks after the buffet, your DJ and best man can ask your guests to gather outside to watch the fireworks (giving them time to digest their food).

When the fireworks are finished, you can announce that everyone is due back onto the dance floor to have a bit of a party.

I hope that this is helpful.

James
