Wedding Magazine - Honeymoon Destinations

ThailandThe Kingdom of Thailand has an area of 517 sq km. And a population of 62 million, comprising of Chinese Malay and Thai. With the capital city being Bangkok it is an excellent starting point for an ideal honeymoon. The official language is Thai, and the currency is Baht. Buddhism plays a huge part in Thailand and with 95% of the population being Buddhist that’s no surprise.

Average temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius make the climate predominantly warm and sunny, though northern hills become somewhat chilly during the months of December and January. The best time for visiting most of Thailand is between November and February, as it tends to be less humid around this time. From the periods of March through May, stay in the south as the north is wildly hot. If you're spending time in Bangkok, avoid April and October, as the weather tends to be severe throughout those two months

Thailand is a vastly diverse kingdom and no doubt the most popular visiting spot in Southeast Asia. Rich and varied natural scenery ranges from northern misty mountains and jungles, through emerald rice fields in the central plains, to east coast and southern palm-fringed beaches and lush tropical islands. With its Impossibly irresistible combination of outstanding scenic beauty, enchanting temples, fabulous cuisine, ruins of incredible ancient kingdoms and renowned hospitality.

Words of wisdom

Bangkok is one of the world's great cities, teeming with adventure; and beyond simple description. Bangkok is an experience that cannot be duplicated anywhere else in the world. Despite the infamous traffic and smog, there is a certain buzz and splendor that enchants even the most adventurous traveler.

Bangkok and some of the islands of Thailand are also infamous for the hedonism available in some entertainment venues, but these areas can be easily avoided. Once you become aware of the Thai culture of peace, purity and grace, you will understand how deeply disturbing it is that a small amount of the population is degraded to working in such areas as the Pat pong Road.

I would recommend staying for approximately 3 days in Bangkok, taking in as many temples as you possibly can as you will never tire of their diversity, culture and beauty. After finishing the adventure of Bangkok you can retire to one of its blissfully beautiful islands and soak up the sun and scenery, or continue the adventure with a northern Thailand tour. It’s your choice!
