The fun seekers honeymoon. Some say that in Las Vegas there is no day or night – only round-the-clock over-the-top entertainment. It is hard to argue when you consider that the biggest stars in the world perform there. And that’s in addition to the extravagant stage show, so is Las Vegas a good destination for a honeymoon?
Well if bright brash and glitzy resembles your personality then yes it’s ideal! Las Vegas is the ultimate 24-7 city, where the nights are even more dazzling than the sun-soaked days. There are more clubs, cabarets, spectacular shows and gambling emporia that anyone could exhaust in on holiday. The main drag of the city is the 8 mile stretch of very busy dual carriageway call Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as ‘The Strip’. Hotels along the world-famous Strip are like theme parks in themselves. Taking you from Camelot to Cleopatra and beyond. If you are not interested in lazing on a quiet beach with a good book and more interested in the razzle dazzle, then you are hanging out in the playground of the rich and famous. The Vegas skyline is changing constantly with ever more spectacular resorts and attractions, and when the white-knuckle rides, casinos and the rest seem dizzyingly busy – head for the Nevada Desert where you can enjoy year round tennis, golf, swimming, horse riding and of course visit the Grand Canyon. For the intellectuals among us, you may be surprised to discover museums in Las Vegas – The Clark County heritage, Natural History, and Guinness World of Records museums are all worth a visit. Take a tour of Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory (I always thought it was Willy Wonkers, but that’s hostile takeovers for you!) Ride the Grand Slam Canyon roller coaster and slow the temp with a ghost town day in the desert of a paddle steamer cruise on Lake Meade, beside the Hoover Dam. N ot a lot of people know this but the Americans love food! And they want you to love it too when you stay in Vegas, just as a sample there are: Deli-Diners, buffet restaurants, pizza parlours, steak houses, speciality restaurants for French, Italian, Mexican, Japanese and American cuisines. I am sure if you look hard enough you may find a Chinese restaurant too.Shopping is great for us girls, and there’s plenty of it in Vegas, from large shopping arcades to groovy little boutiques, and the price is right too. Splash out on souvenirs to designer gear. Getting Married in Las Vegas As well as just a honeymoon destination you may choose to actually get married in Las Vegas, and you would be in good company too! Las Vegas has been the chosen destination of countless stars (some still married!) There are a variety of setting from hotels to churches and even drive-through chapels. Nobody ever stressed that a Wedding in Las Vegas was the most romantic of places to tie the knot, but it is funky. The planning is minimal, you get to avoid Aunty Maureen, and it’s a fun way to make a solemn promise. You can have the kind of wedding that you want in Vegas, and though most places are a bit glitzy, there are chapels that do cater to the more romantic souls. Wedding packages are also available for other funky sites, such as the Grand canyon. So if you would rather have the dazzle of Las vegas than the Drizzle of Britain, The winning bet is that this could be the destination for you! |
