England's First Alternative Wedding Fair Puts Fun and Personal Style Back Into Weddings

The event due to be held in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire on 23rd October 2011- Will see what the organiser describes as England's first alternative wedding fair. Organised by An Affair To Remember Event Design & Production, The Alternative Wedding Fair is for brides and grooms who do not identify with existing wedding fairs because they do not offer options that reflect the couple’s personal style and sense of fun.  Its mission is to make weddings memorable events that both couples and guests enjoy, rather than regard as compulsory.

The Alternative Wedding Fair is the creation of Heidi Thompson, owner of An Affair To Remember Event Design & Production.  Heidi specialises in planning unique weddings that reflect the couple's personalities.   "I wanted to plan an event for couples who don’t want a ‘cookie-cutter’ wedding" said event organiser Heidi Thompson. The Alternative Wedding Fair provides a breath of fresh air for frustrated couples that cannot find unique suppliers to help them create their perfect wedding.

There will be about 25 exhibitors plus several other suppliers giving presentations on their products/services.  "Unlike most wedding fair organisers, I am screening each potential exhibitor to make sure they fit into the ‘outside-the-box’ theme of the fair" said Heidi Thompson.  Heidi added, “Since I specialise in saving people money during the course of their wedding planning process, I want to make sure that couples can inject some fun into their wedding without breaking the bank and the selection of exhibitors will reflect this”.  Exhibitors will include unique stationery designers, fun & quirky photographers, alternative wedding dress designers and many more.  Couples are being offered free tickets to The Alternative Wedding Fair if they pre-register at www.facebook.com/thealternativeweddingfair.  An admission charge of £3 per person will be charged at the door for those who have not registered prior to the event.
