The Lifeboat College is completely different to other wedding venues because it is intrinsically linked to the lifesaving work of the RNLI charity. As well as beautifully-dressed rooms with harbour views, The Lifeboat College offers first-class catering overseen by Head Chef Glen Elie, who has worked at Michelin-starred restaurants. A range of menu options has been developed to suit all tastes using produce that is high-quality and locally sourced where possible. Geraldine Grainger, Principal of The Lifeboat College, says: ‘I am delighted The Lifeboat College can now be part of a couple’s wedding day.

RNLIThe Lifeboat College is a unique venue with a very special atmosphere – not only will couples and their guests enjoy the stunning waterside location and fantastic facilities, they will also be supporting the RNLI, as every pound spent helps the charity save lives at sea.’ The first wedding celebrations at The Lifeboat College took place on 17 October 2009. Groom Paul Jobling says: ‘We decided to have our wedding at The Lifeboat College because of the great setting, the people and the service – and of course the massive plus of supporting the charity. Everything about the day was fantastic.’ Couples can choose from three wedding packages, which can be tailored to make their special day extra special. Each option includes red carpet entrance, reception drinks on arrival, wedding breakfast (from three courses to four courses with canapés), a dedicated event manager and an ensuite harbour-facing room on the wedding night (with breakfast the following morning) for the bride and groom included in the price. Further rooms are available for wedding guests (subject to availability).
